Deskdew is free to use for as long as you like, and the free version is a whole working day: posture switches, hourly breaks, eye breaks on the 20-20-20 rule, a two-movement stretch break for the neck and chest, reminders for any of them, the Lock Screen widget, the end-of-day check-in, and your last week of days. Pro adds the full exercise library (ten stretches, four eye exercises in rotation, box breathing), control over how often each one comes, weather-aware timing, and Insights that read your whole record. Nothing you set up is lost if you stay free, or if a subscription lapses.

Check that notifications are allowed in iOS Settings → Notifications → Deskdew, and that a Focus mode isn't silencing them. Inside the app, open the Exercises tab: every exercise has its own bell, and tapping one asks iOS for permission if it hasn't been granted yet. Reminders only fire during the working hours and days you've set.

Long-press your Home Screen or Lock Screen, tap the add/customise button, and search for Deskdew. The widget needs iOS 17 or later. It's part of the free version. It shows what you should be doing right now, and the check-in button works without opening the app or unlocking the phone.

No. Location is only used to show local weather, and you can search for a city by name instead. The app only ever asks for while-in-use access with reduced accuracy.

Yes. Set your working hours to end before they start (say 22:00 to 06:00) and Deskdew treats it as one overnight shift: breaks, posture flips, and your history all stay attached to the day the shift started.

Everything from setup can be changed later. Settings → Working hours covers your hours, lunch, and which days you work. The Exercises tab covers which exercises are in your day, how often each one comes, and which ones remind you.

Settings → Privacy → Erase all data. It asks once to confirm, then removes your working hours, routine, activity history, check-ins, saved location and cached forecasts from the device, and takes you back through setup. It can't be undone. Deleting the app does the same thing. Either way it's free — deleting your own records is never a paid feature — and your App Store purchase is unaffected. There's no account and no Deskdew server copy. MET or Apple may retain limited request records under their own policies; see the privacy policy for details.

Yes, completely: Settings → Weather. With it off, neither the app nor the widget contacts the weather service at all, and the cached forecasts on the device are deleted. Your routine keeps working; you just lose the weather-aware parts, like which break lands in the sun. Weather is off to begin with — setup explains what would be sent, and to whom, next to the switch, so nothing goes anywhere until you turn it on.

MET Norway (api.met.no), the Norwegian Meteorological Institute's free public API. On iOS, manual city search uses Apple's geocoding service.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Deskdew, or the App Store app. Cancel during the free week and you're never charged. Deskdew reminds you on day 5, two days before the trial converts.

Open Deskdew and tap Restore purchases on the plans screen, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase both restore this way. Note that your schedule and history live on the old device only — Deskdew keeps no copy in the cloud.

All payments go through Apple, so refunds do too: visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and choose the Deskdew purchase.
